The Italian Trip Ends Here

Yes, it's sad but true - I will not be returning to Italy this year.
I have taken care of a majority of the problems that haunted me from my short stay in Venice. Both credit cards are good to go, but I am not. The other day I started to get sick and it has turned into a full-blown cold. There is absolutely no way I would like to travel for 16 hours in an airplane feeling sick like this. To further complicate things, in my haste to fly out of Venice, I bought a return ticket to the wrong destination. Instead of flying into Rome, my return ticket takes me back to Venice. I would have to spend even more $$ to buy ANOTHER airline ticket to fly from Venice to Rome & I have already spent way too much money on airfare for this trip. So, this ends my Italian vacation for this year. Not at all the way I pictured this trip going, but there is always next year.
Since I have a week of vacation left, I am looking at possibly doing something stateside once I get over this cold. Not sure what that will be, but if it involves traveling, I will be posting it here.
